Symphony, Chorale to perform ‘Song of Praise’

The Manchester Orchestra and Chorale will be joined by the Riddlers of Avon Old Farms School in a concert on Saturday, April 9.

MANCHESTER — The Manchester Orchestra and Chorale will be heard in full force at its concert on Saturday, April 9, as they perform Mendelssohn’s “Lobgesang” in its English version, “The Song of Praise.”

The singers of the chorale will be joined by the Riddlers of Avon Old Farms School, a select ensemble of singers directed by Bryan Zaros.

The Song of Praise includes both a symphony and a cantata, and is also known as Mendelssohn’s Second Symphony.

Mendelssohn in Manchester will be performed at 7:30 p.m. in Bailey Auditorium at Manchester High School 134 E. Middle Turnpike.

Tickets may be purchased at the door. Prices are $18; $15 for seniors and students, and free for those under 18 years of age.
